I am drawn to the idea of rediscovering my heritage roots through culinary delights and traditional crafts. This artwork explores some of my childhood narrative, and in particular, the tradition associated with ‘Kek Kepala Meja’. An assortment of timeless desserts are incorporated with Javanese and Malay motifs and projected visually on reflective baking tins and trays. With slices of old and new combined, my identity undergoes a perpetual process of reinvention.
